About us

Rupert and Guy Bassett are a father and son team. Rupert has been involved in building since the late 60’s and his initial forays were brought through his main occupation at that time as a farmer and the need for animal housing  and the renovation of  existing farm buildings.  Guy was initially involved in mechanical engineering and then switched to building surveying in the late 80’s. In 1994 they established Brickyard Building Company.

Rupert has always had a passion for old farm buildings: Over the years the style of farming has changed and the original farm buildings have become impractical to use and, in some instances, obsolete. Their careful renovation not only preserves their heritage for the future but gives them a new lease of life. Rupert’s eye for detail and Guy’s flair for design mean their end product is a quality property designed for modern living.

With a committed team of professionals and craftsmen exceptional building standards and high quality workmanship are achieved using the latest materials and new technologies.

The company’s aim is two fold, firstly to deliver projects on time and within budget and secondly to preserve the heritage of the wonderful buildings for the appreciation of future generations.
